How can we help you?

Haskel designs and manufactures gas boosters that are the industry benchmark for durability, safety and reliability. Used for virtually all industrial gases and ideal for gas pressure increases, high pressure gas transference, cylinder charging, and scavenging, Haskel gas boosters can produce pressures up to 39,000 psi (2690 bar).

Gas boosters facilitate the construction of test systems and custom-built OEM products typically used to pressurize with gases that include argon, nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, helium, carbon dioxide, liquefied gas and many other specialty gases.

Proven to be safe, robust, reliable, compact, and easy to maintain, Haskel gas boosters provide a number of operational benefits and gas boosters make fiscal sense for those who purchase gas in high pressure cylinders, send cylinders back to the supplier still containing valuable gas, or have a process requiring a continuous flow that can only be obtained by cascading multiple cylinders of gas.

Why Use a Haskel Gas Booster

Haskel pneumatic and hydraulic driven gas boosters offer a flexible and efficient source for delivering high pressure gases.

  • Oxygen or High Purity Cleaning: Haskel boosters are noted for their cleanliness and can handle pure gases such as oxygen without risk of any contamination.
  • Multi-Staging Capability: For higher flow rates and pressures, beyond the capability of a single gas booster, one or more boosters of the same ratio may be plumbed in parallel and then in series with one or more boosters of the same ratio.
  • High Flow Rates at High Pressures: When high flow rates at high pressures are needed, the booster can charge a receiver to an even higher pressure level, thus storing a volume of gas available for rapid release at a constant pressure through a pressure reducing valve.
  • Cost Savings: Most industrial gases are commonly delivered at pressures of 2,000 – 2,600 psi in steel cylinders. If the gas is to be used well below the supply pressure, the pressurized supply is easily piped and controlled to the point of use with simple valving.

Why Use Haskel Gas Boosters

Pneumatic driven gas boosters offer a compact, flexible and inexpensive method of transferring or boosting high-pressure gas, and are intrinsically safe and are simple to install. Pneumatic gas boosters can be Oxygen or high-purity cleaned. Our Oxygen cleaned boosters are noted for their cleanliness and can handle pure gases such as oxygen without risk of any contamination. When performing maintenance on an oxygen gas booster or system, Haskel cleans parts to meet MIL STD 1330 D.

Multi-staging is an option when higher flow rates and pressures are required beyond the capability of a single pneumatic driven booster. In this case, one or more boosters of the same ratio may be plumbed in parallel and then in series with one or more boosters of the same ratio.

Hydraulic and electric servo powered gas booster / compressors, on the other hand, are more suited to continuous operation and higher flows. Hydraulic driven gas boosters are approximately 3x more efficient than traditional pneumatic driven gas boosters and are capable of 100% duty cycle.

New, electric servo driven gas boosters, developed by Haskel, come packaged as complete gas compression systems. These technologically advanced gas boosters are unique combination of electric servo drive technology and Haskel engineered gas ends, and are built with an IoT operating system to deliver smart, clean and efficient high-pressure gas compression with flow rates up to 6,500 psi – along with infinite controllability and remote monitoring capabilities.

Electric, hydraulic, and diaphragm boosters are all designed for continuous operation, while air-driven boosters and compressors are designed for intermittent operation. Whether your booster or compressor is run continuously or intermittently, all equipment is taken offline sometimes—at the end of a shift, system maintenance, or repair.

For industrial or gas fill operations with costly gasses like helium, consider whether the booster can be started under load. All mechanical compressors, are not designed to start under load. The gas must be vented off every time the machine is cycled on. Bypass loops can help to eliminate shut-off, and hydraulic boosters like Haskel’s H-Drive hydraulic driven gas booster can idle.

Q-Drive, Haskel’s new electric servo driven gas booster, offers the lowest energy consumption and ability to start under load, reducing waste, and operates at <77 dBA, significantly below occupational noise exposure standards for permissible exposure limits.

In any booster system, you can expect some customization to meet the demands of your application. Specific seals and barrels are required for hydrogen, for example, to lessen susceptibility to the embrittlement hydrogen can cause. Q Haskel boosters offer models best suited to the specific gas required by your application.
